Khachkar

TIZYAN, Vruir

 Centre (Good Shepherd Gardens) Centre

Armenian cross cut into a block. Since 2010 the khachkar has formed part of the immovable heritage of Unesco. It is a piece created to thank the welcome given by the population of San Sebastián to the Armenian population of the city.

Work on a cement pedestal on which some of the basic symbols of masonry like the compass and the letter G are shown intertwined. An unfinished equilateral triangle resting on three powerful shapes that represent Liberty, Equality and Fraternity. It has a plaque with the inscription "In memory of all the masons subjected to reprisals during Franco's dictatorship, especially the members of the Respectable Altuna nº 15 Lodge (San Sebastián 1932-36)
