 Take me there

In 1994, the artist learned that the City Council of Donostia-San Sebastián was planning to renovate Plaza de Irun and proposed the installation of a sculptural ensemble integrating the marble figures belonging to the Monument erected to mark the Centenary of the Sacking of the City in 1813 in a work with a more modern outlook. The City Council finally decided to integrate the sculptural project by Aitor Mendizabal with that of the cybernetic fountain planned for the space. The ensemble was unveiled on 23 February 1996.
