Work erected through the initiative of the Parish of San Marcial. Following the death of Bixente Iruretagoyena the idea arose to pay tribute to him and a commission was created, and they decided to erect a statue. To do so, they contacted Arteleku, and Sergio Prego carried out the sculpture. The sculpture was paid for by popular subscription. The work has the following inscription on the pedestal: “BIXENTE / HERRIAREN ZERBITZARI / LEIALA IZAN ZERALAKO / ESKERRIK ASKO / ALTZAKO ZURE LAGUNEK / 1938 - 1995". It was unveiled on 11th February 1996. .
