San Telmo Museum is the oldest museum in the Basque Country, and within it we can discover the evolution of Basque society from prehistoric times to the present day.
It is a living cultural centre, constantly under construction and in continuous interaction with its visitors, because visitors are the true meaning of San Telmo, the objective of all its activities.
Taking the permanent exhibition as a starting point, the museum has a wide programme for all levels of studies and gives us the chance to become submerged in the various thematic strands of Basque society. Therefore, we propose different ways of visiting the museum, so that the students have a splendid and unforgettable experience.

In these activities, adapted to each educational cycle, we follow the general lines of the permanent exhibition and the content schools must cover. Through two-hour activities, the students can develop and experience in an experimental manner the things they have learned in school.
The museum proposes routes to develop specific themes. Students can widen what they have learned in the classroom through these activities which should be done independently by the museum’s educators and the teachers.
