The presentation of these topics, through audiovisuals and current technologies, aims to emphasise each individual's capacity to intervene in the world around them and thereby participate in building their future. By means of an interactive table, debate and reflection are promoted on contemporary issues such as peace and human rights, sustainable development, increasing interculturality, the role of Europe in the World or equality.
How do we understand Europe? What type of Europe do we want to help to build from Euskadi? What role is played by the States, the nations, the regions in a process that should be ruled by solidarity?
If society has attempted to improve its standard of living over the last few centuries using science, reason or technology, the upcoming challenge for the third millennium is to spread Human Rights by reducing social distances regardless of whether these differences derive from race, origin, language, religion or economic situation.
A consumerist society and an industrialised world have tripped the alarms concerning responsible use of energy and out-of-control consumption. Our challenge: change the model on which the current economy is based.
The challenge implies recognising the complexity and the weight of the differences socially constructed between women and men - moral, physical, social, cultural differences among others - that have become inequalities.
Basque society's major challenge and greatest wish is to face the future together in peace whilst respecting Human Rights. How can we help to overcome the painful past to build a free and reconciled society?
