Nestor Basterretxea + San Telmo Museoa. Connections within a collection

As part of the celebrations marking the centenary of the birth of Néstor Basterretxea (1924-2014), San Telmo Museum offers a dialogue-based itinerary among the different pieces in its permanent collection and a selection of significant works by the Basque artist.

The sculptor paid attention to closest surroundings and the traditional manifestations of Basque , its customs and beliefs as a source of knowledge and inspiration, in multiple works of art in varied techniques and disciplines. Therefore, interpretive and inter-related reading among objects is proposed, the enrichment of knowledge of the Basque artist, as well as a appreciation of the patrimony hosted by the museum.
