New conditions for visits and enjoyment of the museum

San Telmo offers its usual programming adapting it to the current situation and taking the necessary measures to guarantee the safety of the people who visit the museum, favoring a quiet and pleasant visit to the museum.

According to Decree 47/2021 it will be mandatory to show the COVID passport + identity card.

Coming to the museum is a recommended and safe plan. These are the aspects to take into account before coming and the most frequent doubts.

What measures has the museum taken?

The measures taken by the museum focus on the safety of visitors and employees, and are geared towards a pleasant tranquil visit to the facilities:

  • Utilisation of face masks is mandatory.
  • The museum's capacity will respect the rules established by the health authorities.
  • The distance between persons must be at least 1,5 metres.
  • A route has been marked for the permanent exhibition to avoid any close encounters.
  • Visitors under 14 must be accompanied by an adult.
  • The museum carries out continuous disinfection of facilities and surfaces.
  • The museum has launched a free app for Android and iOS devices, which also offers an audio-guide option, as museum's audio-guides cannot be provided for hygiene and safety reasons.
  • There are hydroalcoholic gel dispensers at various points in the museum.

What are the museum's opening hours?

The usual: Tuesday to Sunday, 10:00 h to 20:00 h.

What is the entry price?

The usual. On Tuesdays, admission to the museum is free, and the rest of the days the price of the general admission is € 6 and the reduced price is € 3.

You can buy the entrance to the museum via the web.

Members of the museum have free access.

Which exhibitions can be visited?

Are there any guided tours and conferences?

The museum arranges conferences following security measures established at all times. More information here (in spanich).

Bookings of group tours are also possible.

Is the museum library service available?

Yes. The library is opened as usual,  guaranteeing health and hygiene conditions at all times. Moreover:

  • Applications for book lending and bibliographical queries by e-mail on This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it and/or by phone on 943 481569 (10:00 h to 14:00 h Tuesday to Friday, and also on Tuesdays from 16:00 h to 20:00 h).
  • Items lent out may be deposited in the box next to the library door, where they are collected and taken to the quarantine area.

Is the Urgull History House open?

No. The three Urgull centres – History House, Nature Unit and Summer Library – will not be open in view of the difficulty involved in guaranteeing proper compliance with health measures.

However, the museum has developed a map and a mobile application with a route and the heritage and natural attractions of Urgull and a route along the mountain. The map can be purchased at the museum counter.
