The museum's collections have comprised paintings, sculptures, drawings, etchings, Egyptian figures, weapons, medals, ceramics, musical instruments, steles, maps, photographs, farming equipment or argizaiolas since it was set up in 1902. Since then, objects from a wide variety of origins have been added to its funds that currently boast an inventory of over 55,500 pieces, of which a significant part can be seen in the museum's Permanent Exhibition.
