HAU III. Euskal Herriko objektu tradizionalaren diseinu lehiaketa

HAU, Traditional Basque Objects Design Contest

18 June 2019 - 01 September 2019
The aim of HAU Traditional Basque Objects Design Contest is to update the design of a traditional object present in the Basque culture. This means that we contribute, on the one hand, to the research and eventual recovery of traditional uses and customs and, on the other hand, to the adaptation, renovation and reinterpretation of traditional objects from the point of view of contemporary design, establishing new relationships with our history and expanding the lines of research and fields of action of design.

The exhibition, by Vitra Design Museum, MAK Vienna and Design Museum Gent, examines the current boom in robotics in detail for the first time. It will comprise more than 200 exhibits from the fields of design and art and will include robots used in the home, in nursing care, and in industry as well as computer games, media installations, and examples of films and literature in which robots feature.

It will show the wide variety of forms that robotics takes today and at the same time broaden our awareness of the associated ethical, social, and political issues.

San Sebastián sounds out. 80th Musical Fotnight

San Sebastián sounds out. 80th Musical Fotnight

11 July 2019 - 01 September 2019
Summer of 1939 saw the first edition of San Sebastián's Musical Fortnight, one of the oldest music festivals in Europe that has received and continues to receive public affection and respect.

This exhibition shows the aspects that have given it shape until our times. The installations by sound artist Mikel Arce form a part of this kaleidoscope of images and sounds that depicts a way of understanding music. Music that communicates, crosses borders, excites, creates and moves. A shared history.
